The Grove Hotel – Spa and Golf

Everything was phenomenal. The service, quality of the rooms, the F&B facilities and arguably the best hotel breakfast buffet I ever had. The location feels like i’m staying in Tolkien’s Shire. Thank you Grove team, you have made something special here.

Had an amazing dinner at the Glasshouse Buffet on Sunday the 08th of March 2026. Robert and Georgia were exceptional service wise. Their charm, attention to detail and friendliness really elevated the experience. They are a true credit to this establishment. Myself and my cousin felt well looked after, the food was exceptional and the best selection of food of any buffet I have been to. The other staff members across the restaurant were all very polite, and you do not feel “ripped off”. If you have the opportunity to visit, trust me you won’t be disappointed. Oh and did I mention the buffet includes warm freshly cooked bread?

Beautiful Christmas experience at The Grove. Although you pay a steep price, the staff go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and memorable. The bed was comfy and room temperature coud be adjusted. They had Nespresso machine in the rooms which suited me so well, given there are no cafes for miles around. The breakfast is an experience and is inclusive. Cooked breakfast with every kind of eggs (Royale, Devilled, scrambled) , meat , Turkish you name it. The waiters would even remember your table and your preferences! Christmas eve was the best experience around the fire-pit with carol singers, mulled wine and hot chocolate. Toasted cheese and marshmallows and stroking reindeer. Loved Santa's grotto the next day too. Anytime access to the gym, pool and steam rooms was great. They have 2 cinemas running in the evenings and stroll in their vast spaces is refreshing. The library could be quiter.

Amazing facilities! Everything remains modern, clean and well kempt. The adult spa facilities are beautiful. The steam room is male / female only found in the relevant locker rooms. But the steam room and jacuzzi is shared. All great facilities. Kids pool is separate on the other side of the hotel. Once again, amazing little place for kids. It's not big but it has a baby pool and a fair sized pool for them to splash around. Rooms are lovely and beds soft and well kept. Bar, cocktails and restaurant are an absolute MUST. Amazing with great options. However the room mini bar.....I did have to laugh when the prize for a 'airplane' bottle of vodka was £10 and a packet of crisps something silly like £4.50. With what you paid for the room - what are you after here? However.... It's a 5 star from me. And having been here several times now - I've been impressed every single time.

Still an overall great experience at The Grove - despite difficult weather conditions - and our kids getting slightly older at 9yo and 12yo. Archery was a well managed activity. As was the cycling. And food / restaurants / service were all excellent. We also had a great 18holes of golf on the wonderful (and easy to navigate!) course. Special thanks to Carlos, Ellis and the team who went the extra mile to accommodate our group!

Good points: I had a nice welcome from the doorman, who held the car door open for me. All other staff were equally as pleasant and efficient. We were in the Glass house restaurant. Plenty of different foods to choose from. It was nice to be able to taste food I had not tried before. Not so good points: Considering the price I would have expected table cloths Tables were too close together, and it was difficult to get in and out. Also, no privacy. Canteen atmosphere.

Fantastic experience at The Glasshouse buffet. Food and service were both excellent. Special thanks to Aga for her attentive service and to Andrej who took time to talk me through all the dishes to help with an allergy. He was very knowledgeable about every item. Thank you also to Robert for his help. Highlights were the seafood, sushi, beef wellington and desserts. This was a treat for my son who had seen the buffet online and he said it was even better than his expectations.

Had a fantastic few nights here. The staff make the place, the service was excellent from check-in, to the dining and spa, a particular mention to the staff in the Stables. Room was a good size and well maintained. The spa a bit on the small side but again great service in there, slight disappointment was jacuzzi was out of action for most of the stay and when it was operational wasn't particularly warm. That said everything else was almost faultless, grounds well kept and great walking route. Would likely return!
